The George Tavern, (formally known as the George & Dragon Tavern) has been a part of the East Maitland Landscape for over 25 years. Conveniently located next door to Stocklands Greenhills and positioned on a large block with loads of carparking, The George caters for a range of customers. Enjoy a relaxing lunch or dinner in our bistro or an icy cold beer in our main bar at the end of the day. Come along midweek for our raffles and joker draw. Make sure you get there on Monday or Tuesday for our happy hour. Saturday nights is a must with live entertainment everyweek.
Our Manager, Paul Farrell and his wife Olga have been a part of the George Tavern for 8 years. They have been in the industry for 20 years. We are very fortunate to have them as part of our team. Say hi to Paul one day.....he may even shout you a beer!
The George is currently being refurbished with many additions such as a new outdoor deck off the main bar, totally renovated main bar, renovated games/lounge area, refurbished Bistro including a larger outdoor dining area all with a new look exterior, not to mention our brand new function room. Throughout this planning stage, the owners have been mindful to keep the "relaxed feel" of the current Tavern. Currently The George is seeing many new and exciting changes that should be finished by September 2010.
The Main bar and TAB caters for many. With plenty of room for small groups to gather for a quiet drink, or if you like - sing and dance along to the weekly entertainment on Saturday nights. Joker Draws and raffles also prove to be popular - not be mention happy hour! (for more information on entertainment go to whats on).
The George Bottlo is open 7 days with a wide range of wines, beers and spirits. Come in a see our Bottleshop Manager Karen Wallace. You will also see her in our Bar and Bistro. Karen has been a part of the Team at the George for over 10 years and knows this place inside and out. Karen and the team pride themselves on oustanding service.
